The Committee on Finance, in collaboration with the goals established by the Church Council, is responsible for counting, recording/tracking, depositing, and disbursing all contributions received by Emory Grove UMC. Finance prepares the annual church budget for adoption by the Church Council and provides other required financial data and/or remittances to the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church on behalf of Emory Grove for the annual local church audit, the statistical report, apportionments, and special UMC offerings. We also generate the bi-monthly direct deposit payroll transactions, prepare the required tax documents (i.e., Giving Statements, 1099, W-2, 941), and report employee earnings to the Internal Revenue Service.
