Harriet Tubman

At Emory Grove UMC, Black History Month is every day, and it has been for more than a 150 years.  Thirty years after retracing the path of the Underground Railroad on foot, Dr. Tony Cohen, a Germantown historian, plans to make the journey again.  This time marking the nation’s 250th birthday while highlighting the legacy of Harriet Tubman, he is taking a 2,200 bronze statue named, “Tubman Journey to Freedom” with him.  To the delight and amazement of congregants, both he and the statue stopped by Emory Grove UMC last Sunday for a talk and pictures.
